NAETO C RETURNS TO SCHOOL
Since 2006 when he made his debut into the Nigerian music scene, he has in no doubt redefined hip-hop, and rap music in Nigeria with his brand of music.
Thus far Naetochukwu Chikwe otherwise known as "Naeto C" has recorded over 50 songs for his debut with production that transcends today's Hip Hop sound. From the Fela inspired 'Lagos City Hustla' the most articulate reflection of Hip-Hop/Afro-beat till date to the down-south-melody-stricken 1st single 'Sitting on Top', Naeto C has broken all boundaries and surpassed more limits than any up and coming artist, lyrically and production wise.
Though Naeto C graduated in 2004 from the George Washington University with a B Sc. in Biology, intending to study further and become a medical doctor. After some deep self-searching he changed his mind and decided to pursue his dream and develop his talent as a musician.
Well, looking at his achievement in his three years of entry into the Nigerian music industry, one can say he has not done badly at all. He even won the 2008 MTV Africa Music Awards as the Best New Musician.
Perhaps the reason why he has returned to school. Did I hear you say Sch-oo-l, o yes school. He has returned to do his Masters in Ireland, where his mother his currently the Nigerian Ambassador, and guess who that is, Dr Mrs Kema Chikwe, one time Minister of Transport and Aviation. Isn't he lucky? Studying and enjoying all the benefits of a Diplomat's son.
So, if you don't get to see Naeto C in the entertainment circles like you used to, then know that he has returned to school.
We'll sure miss him, but one can never be too sure of these things, who knows he might just be able to juggle both music and studies very well or start another music revolution in Ireland.
Anyhow he chooses to go, we wish Naeto C well, and urge him to do Nigeria proud.
